Our cherries are available fresh from mid June through August. They come packed in individual clam shells or bulk boxes if "we" pick, or you can use your own container if "you" pick. We also hand press and bottle tart cherry juice in mid August with customers squeezing and bottleling their own juice for freezing.
Royal Ann cherries are large, heart-shaped, juicy and sweet with golden-pink skin and flesh. Also called Napoleon cherries, they are used mainly for commercial canning and to make maraschino cherries. They are delicious for out-of-hand eating as well.
Originating in Oregon, Bing cherries are the most produced variety of sweet cherry in the United States. They are extra large, heart-shaped cherries with a deep maroon color and are used almost exclusively for fresh market. A wet climate is required for the harvest of this cherry.
Like the Bing, Lapin cherries also have a deep color with a light and juicy red flesh. Lapin cherries are resistant to splitting due to it's flexible skin. It is a very popular fresh market sweet cherry that often causes one to make a U-turn to stop and buy when seeing a fruit stand selling them.
Sweethearts are large heart-shaped cherries with a bright red color. They have a sweet flavor with a nice tang and are usually the last cherries of the season. A great cherry grown in colder regions.
Montmorency is the most popular of the sour cherry varieties the U.S. and Canada. The medium-large fruit is bright red with firm, yellow flesh and clear juice. They are extensively used in cherry pies, as well as in jams and preserves. Montmorency tart cherries are a rich source of antioxidants and can help fight cancer and heart disease. In addition, there are beneficial compounds in Montmorency tart cherries that help relieve the pain of arthritis and gout.
